Research on goal-setting and 'implementation intentions' (writing down a specific plan) shows that clear, specific intentions improve follow-through. That research doesn't test sigils, but it explains why a focused ritual around a goal can help.
How to use one honestly
Pick one specific intention, make the sigil, charge it, and then take one real action toward the goal in the same week. Judge results over weeks, not days.
Does a generated sigil work as well as a hand-drawn one?
Many practitioners feel making it yourself adds meaning. A good compromise: generate a base design, then trace or redraw it by hand and charge it yourself.
